Bio
I am a PhD student @GSU Cologne, Germany researching new ways to assess human physical activity based on the acceleration of the thigh. I’ve studied sports and health science in Cologne, Munich and Copenhagen. I am currently a visiting researcher at the AUT Human Potential Centre at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand. I enjoy what I do!
Three things I like:
Franzbrötchen and Fritz-Kola.
Getting lost in my R and Python code. And finding my way out!
Riding my bike and climbing walls.
Stuff I am currently working on:
Developing a new approach to estimate energy expenditure during physical activity using thigh-worn accelerometers.
Developing a deep learning approach for unsupervised walking sequence detection and gait event detection during walking and running using Keras/Python.
Validating different existing activity classification algorithms using thigh-worn accelerometers.
Improve my understanding of Te Reo Māori.
